Description: The Black Ocellaris Clownfish is very distinctive with its jet-black body and three white stripes on each side. Black Ocellaris Clownfish begins life donning an orange coloration that slowly transitions to a beautiful caramel or umber coloration as juveniles. It takes the Black Ocellaris Clownfish roughly a year to gradually darken to their final jet-black coloration. It is not uncommon for some adult individuals to retain traces of the orange/umber coloration, especially around their mouth and face.
Maintaining-Care: Clownfish are voracious eaters, they will accept most meaty foods and frozen herbivore preparations. Dry foods such as TDO, and Spectrum are great source of food as well. Anemone's aren't necessary, but will provide a home for your clownfish against aggressive tank mates.
Anemone Hosting: Clownfish are a natural host of the Magnificent Sea Anemone (Heteractis magnifica), Giant Carpet Sea Anemone (Stichodactyla gigantean), Merten's Carpet Sea Anemone (Stichodactyla mertensii), and Bubble Tip Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor).
